Ulixis is proud to provide a solution to the problem of decarbonizing the automotive industry in France, and above all in Europe.

Retrofit

Retrofit, or Electric Retrofit, is the process of transforming a petrol or diesel-powered vehicle into an electric one.

Conversion kit

This involves replacing the internal combustion engine, fuel tank and exhaust system with an electric motor, batteries and an electrical energy management system.
The set of electromechanical parts is called the conversion kit, and takes theUlixis team around 48 hours to assemble. During such a conversion, Ulixis adds extra functions to the cars, such as a digital display to facilitate control of the electrical system.

Performance: the same, only better

The government has set performance standards. These must be identical to those on the original vehicle. But electric drive has one big advantage: instant acceleration thanks to a powerful electric motor.

As well as giving your commercial vehicle a smoother acceleration, Ulixis ensures that the load space remains unchanged, thus achieving one of our objectives: to preserve its original use.

Our SUVs are equipped with 4×4 functionality, making them true off-road champions.

A separate chapter is devoted to retrofit collections, in which former top-of-the-range cars are transformed. At Ulixis, we also transform high-end SUVs such as the “Land Rover Range Rover Classic” and do our best to improve the original driving characteristics. That’s why, for example, our SUVs feature 4×4 functionality, making them true off-road champions.

By retrofitting or transforming an older vehicle, you ensure it lasts longer and lasts longer by removing the most complex mechanical parts, which are often the first victims of ageing.

Low-emission zones

Low-emission mobility zones (ZFE-m) can present a problem for older vehicles, which often no longer comply with emission standards. Retrofitting allows you to drive in these zones without restrictions and, in some cities, electric vehicles can even park for free.

Can I have my car retrofitted?

Under French law, the vehicle must meet certain conditions to be eligible for conversion: it must run on petrol or diesel, be over 5 years old, pass the roadworthiness test, be in a satisfactory state of original configuration and be registered in France. The vehicle must not have a collector’s registration document. But this will be the subject of a new, more comprehensive article in our next publication.
